Video Marketing 101 - Reasons To Use Video in your Branding
More and more, people are doing video marketing to promote themselves and their businesses-- simply because it works. Creating a short video is arguably easier than writing a short article - you just need the right tools and you're good to go. All you need is a camera or screen-recording software plus a microphone.
That being said, there are 3 main reasons why marketing with videos is really a no-brainer:
1) Reach a larger audience.
Not everybody learns best from reading. Other people learn from doing, listening, or watching and then following. By changing the format of your content, you'll be reaching a larger audience and making it easier for many of them to learn from you. You should never put all your eggs into one basket. As in, you shouldn't focus all your promotions on one method like only doing pay-per-click or only doing banner advertising because if something goes wrong or something changes, then you're out of luck.
In the same way, don't create all your content in one format. If you live in an urban center, then you should be used to getting hit by ads at every corner, from the newspaper you read in the morning and TV ads to giant billboards and subway ads. Often, you'll see TV ads, newspaper ads, flyers, and radio ads, all for the same company. The same concept holds true for the Internet marketer: The more your prospect feels your web presence, the more likely they'll end up in your funnel. So in addition to writing articles, why not create videos as well? In fact, why not create blog posts, teleseminars, webinars, podcasts, web 2.0 properties, and press releases as part of you overall marketing presence?
2) It's easy to create videos.
All you really need is a short video ranging from 30 seconds to a couple minutes. In fact, if you do a longer video, the viewer is likely to lose interest. How hard would it be to do a talking-head video for a minute or two, or to record a few slides using PowerPoint? Not very.
Another reason why it's easy to create videos is because you can repurpose your other content and make them into videos. For example, you can take your articles and make videos out of them by either talking about some of the main points or creating a PowerPoint presentation out of the main points. This is great because you get much more mileage out of your original content.
3) It builds your brand.
If you want more people to sign-up to your list or to listen to what you have to say, you have to build trust. A great way to build trust online, where most people stay anonymous, is to get your face and voice out there. In the realm of online business, it is very difficult to establish trust through written words. People will trust you more if they have a face and voice to associate with your name. Anyone can do five minutes of research and write an article on something, but it takes an expert to speak about something on camera.
